The wellknown SCUBAJET Portable Series
Armin Kundigraber’s love for water and passion for water sports gave birth to SCUBAJET. The company’s origins can be traced back to one of the spots where he and his family enjoyed practicing various water-related activities. That’s when Armin realized that a motor that could be utilized for multiple water-related activities would be beneficial. He found no such thing on the market, so he decided to make his own, giving birth to the revolutionary SCUBAJET One in 2016. That’s how the world got the smallest and most versatile water jet system for diving, snorkeling, swimming, stand-up paddling, and kayaking. In 2018, its successor model, SCUBAJET PRO, was released, and its portability, versatility, and power made it a great success. The SCUBAJET Portable Series, comprised of SCUBAJET NEO, SCUBAJET PRO, and SCUBAJET XR, began transforming how people move over and underwater.
Setting new standards in the water sports industry gave Armin a clear sense of direction. As its name implies, the Portable Series is all about portability, with all its products featuring airline-compliant, stackable battery modules. The popularity of SCUBAJET Pro made the company thirstier for innovation, and the immediate question arose: Could SCUBAJET put a motor on a foil? The answer was a resounding YES. It was still 2018, and the subsequent significant development was underway. SCUBAJET didn’t need to reinvent the wheel; only a new board, a new wing, a new mast, new batteries, and a new motor.
The brand-new SCUBAJET Performance Series
An e-foil board wasn’t enough, however. SCUBAJET had to go beyond that. The new development would kickstart the SCUBAJET Performance Series, and the first product would be the SCUBAJET Hybridboard, a board combining e-foil and e-surf in one. The new series was launched earlier this year, and it’s all about high performance, luxury, and adventure.
“E-foiling and e-surfing are two different passions of mine,” Armin says. “I don’t want to miss out one either, and nobody else should. The Hybridboard solves this challenge precisely. SCUBAJET developed the new Performance Series over the past two and a half years. Based on the same revolutionary technology, the new engine is eight times more powerful because surf and foil require substantially more muscle. Much know-how was put into the development of the jet, the battery technology, the shape of the Hybridboard, the interchangeable jet nozzle and the patented Quick Release System, that was engineered for a quick and hassle-free conversion from e-foil to e-surf and back, resulting in the world’s first screw-free board.
SCUBAJET has set a new benchmark with the design of the Hybridboard to continue to push the development of existing technologies.
The Performance Series, spearheaded by the Hybridboard, transformed how people move in the water again. Anything powered by SCUBAJET should run smoothly. Though SCUBAJET’s systems are quiet, a superior noise-canceling functionality was developed to reduce noise transmission through connected parts like the mast and the board.
Unlocking our brand’s potential
We took the launch of the Performance Series as an excellent opportunity to rename our existing product range. Since portability is one of their main standard features, SCUBAJET Neo, PRO, and PRO XR are now the SCUBAJET Portable Series. The new SCUBAJET Performance Series encompasses the high-performing Hybridboard and related products. Our new tagline: “Transforming the way you move in the water” captures the essence of our electric driven product series and represents our brands vision.
We also redesigned our corporate image with a modern and unified look that adequately represents our two product lines and one that matches the international appeal generated by a global brand like SCUBAJET. The makeover included a comprehensive review of our logo, color palette, typography, and visual elements, as well as our website, marketing material, and digital assets. Our prior logo included the Monogram SJ and it was clear from the very beginning of the design process that we want to continue on this path, to create a strong and memorable brand identity. The new logo relaunch is an evolution of the original design, with a modernized look and feel. We have kept the Monogram SJ, but have updated the font and colors to create a more minimalistic look. Employees and customers alike received the relaunch with enthusiasm. The great responses we got at shows in Europe, the Middle East, and the US are evidence of that. The corporate design relaunch is just one of the steps to ensure our company remains competitive in the ever-changing business landscape.
We are conscious of the lifestyle profile of our brand and we will continue to adapt as SCUBAJET develops as a company and as a brand. The new design reflects our commitment to staying ahead of the curve and providing the best products and services to our customers.
